Our Cookbooks

The Cookbooks published by PDFlib GmbH are a collection of source code which facilitate the daily work with PDFlib products. They contain a steadily growing collection of stand-alone topics that help users in getting their job done with PDFlib products. All in all, the Cookbooks help you get started faster, and get your job done in less time.

The Cookbook topics are written in the Java language, but can easily be ported to other programming languages since the PDFlib API is almost identical for all supported language bindings. For some topics, code in other languages like PHP or C is provided. Each Cookbook topic denotes the PDFlib product required for its execution.

The PDFlib Cookbook

The PDFlib Cookbook contains topics with sample code related to the PDFlib Product Family. The PDFlib Cookbook topics complement the PDFlib Tutorial and Reference manuals. They help you get started with important PDF and PDFlib concepts for graphical and interactive features, provide a starting point for your own coding, introduce topics which are not known to everyone (e.g. spot colors, PDF/A), and give a helping hand on rarely used features (e.g. Type 3 fonts).

The TET Cookbook

The PDFlib TET Cookbook is a collection of TET coding fragments for solving specific problems. It is maintained as a growing list of sample programs which will result in a new Cookbook package at regular intervals. The Cookbook topics are written in XSLT and Java, but can easily be ported to other programming languages since the TET API is almost identical for all supported language bindings. Each Cookbook topic denotes the TET interface version required for the topic's execution.
