PDF Processing with PHP on IBM i5/iSeries

PDFlib products can be deployed with PHP and Zend Server for IBM i

All of PDFlib products can be used with PHP on IBM i5/iSeries. Most PDFlib GmbH products support PHP programming on many platforms and are also available on IBM i5/iSeries, additionally the combination of PHP and i5 is available.

For i5/iSeries there is a complete and versatile set of PDF processing tools available which can be deployed with PHP. This covers PDF generation and composition with the PDFlib family of products, linearizing, optimizing, and encryption of PDF documents with PLOP, digital signatures with PLOP DS, text extraction from PDFs with TET, and PDF analysis with pCOS.

PDFlib products for PHP on i5/iSeries run on Zend Server for IBM i. This is based on the Portable Application Solutions Environment (PASE for i), an »integrated runtime for porting selected applications from AIX systems«. PASE is not an emulation, but uses the processor directly. There are no performance disadvantages when using PASE. PASE is available without any additional charge and does not require users to learn AIX system administration since it is fully integrated into i5/OS.

The products PDFlib, PDFlib+PDI, PDFlib Personalization Server, PLOP, PLOP DS, TET and pCOS are available for PHP on i5/iSeries. The requirements for using PDFlib with PHP on i5/iSeries are Zend Server for IBM i, or Zend Server Community Edition (CE) for IBM i and PHP 5.2 or PHP 5.3.
In order to deploy PDFlib with Zend Server for IBM i a download package and license key for AIX is required. PDFlib GmbH products can be evaluated without a license, but some features are restricted unless a valid license key is applied.
