In order to protect customer investments and to allow customers to extend existing PDFlib 7 installations without changing a component in their software architecture, PDFlib 7 licenses have been still available after the release of PDFlib 8. The exact conditions depended on whether or not the customer has an active support agreement and are detailed in the following table: 

PDFlib 7 licenses purchased after December 31, 2009 are not eligible for free updates to PDFlib 8 (even with active support). However, they can be updated at the reduced fee (60% of the target price) to the same version 8 product on the same platform (e.g. a PDFlib 7 license can be changed to a PDFlib 8 license at 60% of the list price of PDFlib 8).
