PDFlib, PDFlib+PDI and the PDFlib Personalization Server (PPS) are available under commercial licensing.

All products of the PDFlib family are distributed within a single package which is fully functional, but displays a demo stamp across all pages unless a valid license key is applied. According to your order the license key will activate PDFlib, PDFlib+PDI, or the Personalization Server.

One license covers a single computer running under the selected operating system platform, regardless of the number of CPUs. An individual license key is necessary for every individual system. Details of the commercial PDFlib license can be found in the document PDFlib licensing which is also contained in the PDFlib distribution. 

PDFlib Lite, a subset of PDFlib's functionality, is available as for free under certain conditions.

Customers in the Americas, Australia and Japan will be invoiced in US-$, all other regions in Euro. Customers in Germany must add 19% VAT (MwSt.).

Volume discounts are available for multiple licenses of the same product, provided all licenses are part of a single order.

We offer discounted packages for the combination of PDFlib and PLOP DS which can be used for creating and signing PDF documents. If you order a standard licence of PDFlib 7, PDFlib+PDI 7, or PDFlib Personalization Server (PPS) 7 in combination with PLOP DS 3 (on the same platform) you will get 50% discount on the PLOP DS license.

This offer applies only to the platforms listed on this page. To receive the discount you must quote "DS-BUNDLE-50%" on your order. This promotional offer is valid until December 31, 2008.

An update changes an existing license to a license for a newer version on the same platform. An update invalidates the old license. CPUbased licenses for PDFlib 5 and 6 products can be updated at a reduced license fee. Each CPU license for a version 5 or 6 product entitles to an update to a version 7 license. For example, a dual-CPU license can be updated to two version 7 licenses. A valid license key must be supplied with an update order. Maintenance updates (e.g., from version 7.0.1 to 7.0.2) are free.
Customers without a support contract can add support when updating to PDFlib 7. In this case the support fee is based on the full license fee of the product (not the reduced update fee).
The discount for updating PDFlib, PDFlib+PDI, or PPS 5/6 to version 7 is the same for all combinations if the older license has been purchased before October 1, 2006. Licenses acquired after this date can only be updated to the same product (but the product type can be changed by combining the update with an upgrade, see below).

License keys for earlier versions will not work on PDFlib 7.

An upgrade changes an existing license for a PDFlib 7 product to a license for a more advanced product on the same platform. An upgrade invalidates the old license. All licenses can be upgraded at a reduced fee. A valid license key must be supplied with an upgrade order. The following table indicates the fees for various upgrade combinations as a percentage of the target product’s list price:

We offer optional support contracts in combination with a new product license, or to renew an existing support contract. The support fee per year is 18% of the corresponding license fee. Customers with an active support contract will benefit from the following advantages:

technical support with short response times

all minor (maintenance) and major (functional) updates included for free

early availability of patchlevel (bugfix) versions

maintenance releases and technical support available until the end of a product’s lifetime

These premium licenses do not require any royalties, and can be combined with support.
