PDFlib PLOP and PLOP DS are available under commercial licensing.

The two products of the PDFlib PLOP family are distributed within a single package which is fully functional, but has a few restrictions until a valid license key is applied. According to your order the license key will activate PDFlib PLOP or PDFlib PLOP DS.

One license covers a single computer running under the selected operating system platform, regardless of the number of CPUs. An individual license key is necessary for every individual system.

Customers in the Americas, Australia and Japan will be invoiced in US-$, all other regions in Euro. Volume discounts are available for 5 or more licenses (see below).

Like all EU businesses, PDFlib GmbH’s invoicing and VAT handling is governed by EU law:

Customers from non-EU countries will not be charged VAT.

Customers from Germany will be charged 19% VAT (MwSt.).

Customers from all other EU countries must provide their VAT identification number to avoid VAT being added to the invoice.

Volume discounts are available for multiple licenses of the same product according to the table below, provided all licenses are ordered with a single combined order.

We offer optional support contracts in combination with a new product license, or to renew an existing support contract. Customers with an active support contract will benefit from the following advantages:

technical support with short response times

all minor (maintenance) and major (functional) updates included

early availability of patchlevel (bugfix) versions

maintenance releases and technical support available until the end of a product’s lifetime

additional licenses can be purchased until the end of the lifetime

Support contracts can optionally be renewed automatically every 12 months until the support is explicitly terminated by the customer.

One license covers a single computer running under the selected operating system (platform), regardless of the number of CPUs. Development licenses for machines which are not used for production purposes and run under the same operating system are free with each purchase. Redundant (backup) machines do not require a separate license, provided they are never used concurrently with the actual production machines. Groups of load-balancing servers require a license for every server in the group.

Supplying the name of the target operating system platform is a strict requirement since the license is bound to a specific platform. The license is valid for all supported language bindings (programming languages) on the selected platform.

An update changes an existing license to a license for a functionally enhanced version of the same product on the same platform. An update invalidates the old license. A valid license key must be supplied with an update order. The following table indicates the fees for various update combinations as a percentage of the target product’s list price:

An upgrade changes an existing license for PLOP 4.x to a license for PLOP DS 4.1 on the same platform. An upgrade invalidates the old license. A valid license key must be supplied with an upgrade order:

In addition to machine-based licenses PDFlib GmbH offers Premiumlicenses with extended rights, such as site licenses, integration licenses,and source code licenses.Premium licenses are available at a fixed license fee and do not requireany additional royalties.
